For this canal boat mooring rope we take ten metres of jet black Softline (a synthetic rope that is extremely easy to handle), we then eye splice one end and back splice the other.
Splicing both ends means the rope is easy to handle and that the ends do not fray.

Softline is a Synthetic rope that is extremely soft and flexible this means that it is easy to control.  It is made from a variety of different materials (multi filament) so it feels different to most plastic based ropes e.g. normal polypropylene rope.  

This line would make ideal mooring rope for yacht or canal boat as it floats but does not rot.  It has also been UV stabilised, this mean that it will not decompose in direct sunlight.  

Our Softline mooring ropes are available in two diameters 12mm (breaking strain 1,860 kilos) and 14mm (breaking strain 2,560 kilos).

Pre-made ropes are also available in White softline and Brown hempex.
