For this mooring rope we take ten metres of Nylon Softline, we then eye splice one end and back splice the other. Splicing both ends means the rope is easy to handle and that the ends do not fray.

The Nylon softline is a synthetic rope that is extremely flexible and easy to handle.  The breaking strain of the rope is an amazing three tons thanks to its three strand yarn construction.  

This nylon line would make excellent mooring rope for yacht/narrowboat as it is highly visible, floats and does not rot when used around around water.
