Softline is a synthetic rope that is extremely soft and flexible, this means it is easy to handle. It is made from a variety of different materials (multi filament) so it feels different to most plastic based ropes e.g. normal polypropylene rope.

This mooring line is suitable for wide beam narrow boats and small barges as it floats but does not rot. It has also been UV stabilised so that it does not decompose in direct sunlight. For standard canal boats 14mm black softline is recommended as it's easier to handle. 16mm is often used for more adventurous cruising and towing because of it's extra strength.
