Trafalgar Marine Services carry a wide variety of synthetic and natural rope. You can buy our products by the metre or in coils of varying sizes. Also available are ten metre mooring lines which are eye and back spliced.

Natural Rope

 You can use our natural ropes for entertaining family pets. Customers have previously purchased supplies for cats, dogs, rats, monkeys, gorillas, parrots and other birds.

Popular natural products include Sisal. Made from natural grass fibres it is appropriate for pet toys, such as cat scratches. Larger diameter Sisal can be used around the garden for decking, swings, handrails etc.

Synthetic Rope

We stock a range of synthetic ropes suitable for marine, industrial, agricultural and DIY. Popular synthetic lines include black multifilament and Hempex mooring ropes (available per metre or as pre-made lines). Larger diameter Hempex is perfect for barriers and hand rails.

We also supply black polypropylene ideal for fender making, currently available in 10mm, 12mm and 14mm. The staple spun and green line plus ranges are produced for the fishing industry but are appropriate for many applications where strength is essential.  

Decking Rope

Natural Sisal and Manila decking rope available in 28mm diameter. Synthetic Hemp decking rope available in 24mm and 28mm diameter.  

You can buy decking rope by the metre or by the coil, usually 220 metres. Use around the garden especially for decking and boundaries.

Expected lifespan (garden)

• Sisal rope should last for a couple of years but will last significantly longer if treated with preserver.
• Manila rope will last longer than the Sisal and should last five or six years without any treatment.
• Synthetic Hemp rope will last even longer up to ten years.

If the rope is indoors away from direct sunlight and moisture you can add five/ten years to lifespan.

Other

You can save money (around 30%) when you buy our rope by the coil. Most coils of rope we stock are 220 metres long unless otherwise stated.
